This may come as a surprise, but after many years of photographing weddings, this is my first time photographing a Merrimon-Wynne House wedding. Maurice + Ashley beautifully infused bohemian styling throughout their outdoor wedding ceremony and wedding reception inside the carriage house. Merrimon-Wynne House Wedding
Here’s what the bride had to say about the wedding venue: The Merrimon Wynn House in Raleigh, NC was simply beautiful. What attracted us to this wedding venue was how beautiful everything was. It was breathtaking as soon as I walked up. I already knew this was the place but it was the first venue we looked at so I didn’t wanna jump the gun. The bridal suite was huge and bright with the great lighting the window gave us.
The groom’s suite was spacious as well and very comfortable for the guys. Both suites were upstairs which gave us privacy. The space throughout the whole venue was perfect for us and our guests. Our host Lucy was more than perfect. I recommend them 1000%
Wedding dress:
Here’s what the bride had to say about her styling: I went with a slightly bohemian look for my dress. I wanted a fitted dress that wasn’t too heavy with a train that wasn’t down the aisle. I choose the headpiece to accentuate my hairstyle. My dress came from Gavin Christianson Bridal. It was a one-stop-shop for me and was a private experience that was amazing.
Wedding attire:
Here’s what the groom had to say about the guys’ attire: I keep the process very simple, clean, and timeless when it came to the tux rental process. I went to the Men’s Warehouse to try out different fabrics and styles that matched and complimented the wedding color theme. I ultimately decided on a classic black and white tux with a two-button jacket that will match an outside and spring wedding. Adding the proper champagne tie for myself and bow ties for my groomsmen provided the dash of color to the tux and allows us to stay on one accord and provide a spin on a classic look.
Maurice and Ashley opted to have a 1st look before their wedding ceremony on the staircase inside the Merrimon-Wynne House which allowed them to share this moment together, alone. While this isn’t very common with my couples, it allows couples to experience this moment intimately and often more freely. See their reactions.
Wedding decoration:
I had a great team: Cup of Tea (wedding planner) and Lizzie Lindsay (florist) heard my vision, my bulletin board of ideas, and brought them to life
Wedding flowers:
My florals were a combination of burnt orange, lavender, green and ivory fresh flowers. I did pampas grass in my arch and a little in my bouquet and the floral arrangement for the reception
Merrimon-Wynne House Wedding Reception
We utilized Merrimon-Wynne’s carriage house for our reception. It was so open and filled with sunlight the first time we walked through. The crystal chandelier was breathing taken. It was spacious and had me in pure aww.
