A college crush rekindled. That is how I’d summarize the coming together of Brian + Sara, celebrated at The Hall and Gardens at Landmark in Garner, NC. The two met and were friends in college, then after some time, they reconnected. Patience has it’s rewards, and Brian’s reward was his as they exchanged vows at the St. Mark AME Zion Church in Durham, NC. As is usually the case, the bride (Sara) contacted me hoping that I was available to document her wedding day. Now bride’s, you don’t want to wait until your a couple months away from your big day to schedule us. But for Sara, it worked out fine because her wedding day was set for early December which is traditionally a slower month for wedding photographers! We immediately jumped in planning mode with Sara and her wedding planner, Renita from All Things Social. The rest was absolutely beautiful. Just see for yourself!
Four Points Sheraton Wedding Preparation
We were initially planning to begin photographing Sara getting ready at the church, but I thought it would be much better photographically to capture the prep at the Four Points Sheraton. The lighting was as I envisioned, and we captured Sara and her bridal party preparing for the couples nuptials.
St. Mark AME Zion Wedding
I’m very much a fan of black and white photography, as you can see from the image in the set above and in the set below. The image directly below prompted an interested internal debate: to leave as color or to create it as black and white. I ultimately decided to leave it in color so that Brian would have a perfect replica of the smile given to him as he recited his marriage vow to Sara.
