This fall I will have the pleasure of photographing Issac + Robin Danielle for their wedding day, at the Barclay Villa in Angier, NC. So in anticipation of the big day, late this January I ventured to Uptown Charlotte to shoot their engagement session. It was a wintery, cold afternoon, but both Isaac + Robin Danielle’s energy and style made for a memorable experience in the Queen City. As Isaac + Robin Danielle continue towards their journey of spending a lifetime together, take a few minutes to #Meetthemoss’s.
Share with us how you two met:
Isaac and I met during the beginning stages of our educational career. It was August 2004 to be exact, and the start of the fall semester was underway on the campus of Livingstone College. It was those stomping grounds where Isaac and I had our introduction. What was nothing more than registering for classes at the time, has led to us getting ready to share a lifetime…
Tell us about your proposal:
“Since I had never had a surprise birthday party in my life, I convinced Robin’s friends to persuade Robin to throw me a surprise 30th birthday! With her friends keeping her busy, I switched the occasion from the planning of a surprise birthday party to my planning her a surprise proposal and engagement dinner for MY BIRTHDAY!!! No worries, I was confident my soon to be wife would say YES! The planning period was funny, as I had to track behind Robin to cancel all the plans she was making for me with the various parties. One company almost gave my whole surprise away when Robin called to do a follow-up! On the day of the proposal, I told Robin that my aunt had purchased me a helicopter tour around the city of Charlotte for my birthday. Curious, she asked what time would it be over because she had made dinner reservations. This was only the beginning of her surprise. We began the ride around Charlotte and midway through the pilot tells us to put on our blindfolds that were provided. He said that there was a surprise waiting for the both of us once we landed. I blindfolded Robin but never did blindfold myself. The helicopter landed at a disclosed location with our friends and family awaiting our arrival. I helped Robin out of the helicopter and guided her to the center of everyone where candles were arranged to spell out ‘Will You Marry me???’ I removed the blindfold and the rest is memorable history!”

How / why did you choose your engagement session location?
We chose to do our engagement photos in Uptown Charlotte. This location captured a little backdrop of the Queen City style and artistic structure, which complemented the vibe Isaac and I share. Marshall Park was very quaint and becoming under the flashing lights. This open air location was a lovers playground, no distractions! The city street shots of Uptown were full of nighttime fun! Putting the traffic to a halt and catching the attention of the QC movers and shakers was thrilling yet romantic, all eyes on us. #Meetthemoss’s
