Weddings at the Governors Club

From the moment you enter the gated community, you feel its quiet elegance.  Driving along meandering streets, you appreciate the spectacular views of the Chapel Hill area.  As you enter the Governors Club, you begin to envision your wedding taking place here.

For your ceremony, you can choose from several indoor spaces.  If you are looking for an outdoor wedding, the Club offers ceremonies on the lawn or the patio.  Don’t worry if the weather doesn’t cooperate.  Your wedding will be the only wedding at the Club, giving you access to both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Governors Club Wedding Receptions

The ballroom holds up to 350 people.  Its numerous windows provide plenty of natural light during the day, and its classic chandeliers light up the room at night.  Add a dance floor with a band or DJ, and you’ll be dancing the night away.

Picking the menu for your reception can be stressful.  Will this dish be too spicy?  Are the vegetables bland?  The Executive Chef has mastered the art of customizing menus and cakes to reflect your personal tastes.  During your private tasting with the Chef, you can explore cuisines that delight your guests.  While looking at menus, why not discuss the menu for your rehearsal dinner?

Finishing Touches

Accommodations are available on-site.  A bridal suite cottage that sleeps 22 guests is a perfect place to relax after a rehearsal dinner at the Club.  It also removes the stress of getting to the venue the next day. When you wake up, you are already there!

For out-of-town guests, the Inn at Governors Club has cottages available:  The Blue Ridge Cottage sleeps 24; the Sand Hills Cottage sleeps 22, and the Piedmont sleeps 8.  The Club is about 36 miles from the Raleigh Durham airport, making it accessible to those unfamiliar with the Chapel Hill area.  You could even arrange a golf outing for the wedding party or out-of-town guests to add a little something extra to your wedding celebration.
